Nu har jeg vandret små 2.000 kilometer, jeg har brugt tre måneder på en meditationspude, jeg har fyldt flere dagbøger med tætskrevne notater og jeg har endda formået at forelske mig. Jeg genfandt således både roen og nærværet. Men hvad så nu? Vinteren rusker i Danmark, jeg er tilbage på Vesterbro, og jeg skal stille og roligt tilbage i arbejdstøjet. Men hvad skal jeg tage mig til?
Svaret er nok, at jeg ikke ved det helt endnu. Men jeg ved, hvad der skal hjælpe mig med at træffe de rette valg. Man kan måske synes, at vi er lidt langt ind i 2020 for nytårsforsæt. Men det er nu alligevel en slags nytårsforsæt, jeg vil kaste mig ud i. Her i form af tre konkrete dogmer for mit arbejdsliv i 2020 og frem.
#1 Jeg sætter nærværet først. Jeg vil ikke længere gå på kompromis med mit eget nærvær. Det er en høj bold. For kan det overhovedet lade sig gøre? Vil nærværet ikke nødvendigvis komme under pres i en fortravlet hverdag? Jo, det vil det! Derfor kræver det klare prioriteringer, hårde fravalg og en daglig praksis. Jeg har for eksempel lukket min Facebook – jeg vil hellere være offline end online. Jeg mediterer dagligt. Og så holder jeg løbende øje med mit nærvær. Se for eksempel mit indlæg Stay soft. #2 Jeg vil ikke gå på kompromis med mine kollegers trivsel. De sunde organisationer er under pres i en tid, hvor alt for mange i den offentlige sektor rammes af stress. Som ledere kan vi ikke gemme os bag manglende robusthed og individualiserede mindfulness-kurser. Det er arbejdsmiljøet, der er kernen i stressepidemien og det må vi tage på os. Men det kræver også en topledelse, der er fokuseret på denne udfordring og ønsker at skabe organisationer med både pusterum og hjerterum. Den slags organisationer vil jeg arbejde i og for.
#3 Jeg vil gøre en forskel for helt almindelige mennesker. Jeg har skrevet mange papirer i mit liv. Og lidt for mange af dem har betydet lidt for lidt. Sådan er der nok mange djøf’ere, der har det nu og da. Papirerne kan jeg nok ikke helt undgå, men fremover vil jeg arbejde tættere på de mennesker, det altid har handlet om for mig: Børnene, der har brug for en lys fremtid. Deres forældre, der har svært ved at få enderne til at mødes. Og dem på kanten, der har brug for en ekstra hånd. Jeg vil måle mit arbejdsliv på, om jeg gør en konkret forskel for dem.
Måske lyder mine tre dogmer ikke af meget. Men jeg ved, at de bliver svære at leve op til i hverdagen og i de mange valg, der kommer til at præge min næste tid, hvor jeg skal finde min rette hylde.
